In 1972, Globe Life discovered a need for civil service employees to supplement their life insurance benefits. As a result, Globe Life ESD was formed and special life and health insurance plans were developed to help fill the gaps in government employee insurance benefits.

Since then, Globe Life ESD has grown to become a reputable supplemental insurance provider in the government marketplace. Our supplemental life and health insurance products are sold through independent, state-licensed insurance agents to various federal, state and local government groups and employees, including, postal workers, teachers, and school district employees. We also specialize in offering supplemental life insurance to Native American tribal governments that are federally recognized by the U.S. Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian Affairs.
